He was a resident of Clear Spring, Md., for four years, coming from Wellersburg. He was born Feb. 19, 1931, in Glencoe, and was a son of Mrs. Gladys (Chisholm) McKenzie of Wellersburg and the late Augustus J. McKenzie. He was employed as lead man in final assembly by Fairchild Industries in Hagerstown, Md., and prior to that was employed by the Celanese Fibers Corporation in Cumberland. A veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mount Savage, and started the first Boy Scout Troop in Wellersburg. Surviving in addition to his mother are his widow, Mrs. Esther (Lechliter) McKenzie; one son, Troy E. McKenzie of Wellersburg; four daughters, Mrs. Sharon Shaffer of Hyndman; Mrs. Paula Hosier of Shreveport, La.; Miss Pauline McKenzie of Bel Air, Md., and Mrs. Tammy Fetters of Wellersburg; five brothers, James McKenzie of Corriganville; John McKenzie of Wellersburg; Paul McKenzie of Hyndman RD 1; Augustus McKenzie Jr., of Glencoe, and Fredrick McKenzie of Wellersburg; four sisters, Mrs. Shirley Diehl of Mount Savage; Mrs. Susan Habersack of Cresaptown; Mrs. Joan Haines of Glencoe, and Mrs. Mary Faith Kennell of Hyndman RD 1; six grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. Friends were received in Harvey L. Zeigler Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial was conducted in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mt. Savage, with the Rev. John J. Mackey officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Pall bearers were Stephen Habersack, James Habersack, Vincent McKenzie, Thomas McKenzie, Harvey Rockwell Jr., and Fred Burkholder.
