McKenzie, 73, was dead on arrival Wednesday, Dec. 10, 1986, at Frostburg Community Hospital, Md. Born in Mount Savage, Md., March 22, 1913, he was the son of the late Frank and Greta (Kirby) McKenzie. He was a retired employee of the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company and a member of Local 26, United Rubber Workers of America. Surviving are his widow, Pauline (Long) McKenzie; one son, James McKenzie, Mount Savage; two daughters: Mrs. Rosalie DeVore, Ellerslie, Md.; and Mrs. Polly Reed, Mount Savage; three stepsons: Ronald McKenzie, Hedgesville, W. Va.; Gary McKenzie, Mount Savage; and Terry McKenzie, Corriganville, Md.; three stepdaughters: Mrs. Cherie DeHaven, Corriganville; Mrs. Gayle Robertson and Mrs. Debora Stafford, both of Mount Savage; one brother, Lewis McKenzie, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends were received in the Durst Funeral Home, where services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. John J. Mackey officiating. Interment, St. Patrick's Cemetery, Mount Savage. Pallbearers were Gary Lawson, Roger Resh, Junior Hetz, Roy Stafford, Wayne Hasselrode and Duane Heddy. The Republic, December 18, 1986 [M0894]
