Mr. McKenzie was helping his father make fence, when he was stricken with a very severe headache. He told his father and said he believed he would go to the house to rest. After reaching the house he went to bed, never to rise of his own strength again. He immediately became unconscious and never rallied. The family, wanting to use every possible aid that man could give, decided to take him to the Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, last Friday afternoon, where he died very soon after being admitted. His death was caused by meningitis. He is survived by his wife, who was Margaret Baer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Baer, and three small children, Blaine, Ruth Elaine and Olive. His parents and the following brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Elmer Landis, Boswell; Mrs. Jack Werner, Cresaptown, Md.; Mrs. Irvin E. Hostetler, Meyersdale; Hugh McKenzie, Mt. Savage, Md.; Mrs. Clem McKenzie, Finzel, Md., and Edna, Raymond, Harold and Velma, at home. He is also survived by his aged grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis McKenzie, and grandmother Arklie, aged 77 years. His remains were buried in the Loraditch Cemetery on Monday morning at 9 o'clock, in charge of Undertaker J. L. Tressler. Requiem Mass will be offered on Thursday morning at 9 o'clock in the Pocahontas Catholic Church. Meyersdale Republican, April 14, 1932
