McKenzie, 71, 73 Ormond St., Frostburg, died Thursday, Nov. 9, in Miners Hospital, Frostburg, where he had been admitted Wednesday evening. He had been in ill health for the past eight years. A native of Greenville Township, he was a son of the late Patrick and Rachel (Hutzell) McKenzie. He was a retired employee of the Amcelle Plant of Celanese Fibers; a veteran of World War I, a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and Post 24 American Legion, Frostburg. Surviving are his wife, the former Gertrude McKenzie; three daughters, Mrs. William Johnson and Mrs. John Shockey, both of Frostburg; Miss Delores McKenzie, and a foster daughter, Mrs. Helen Naughton, both at home; also two grandchildren. He was a brother of Sebastian McKenzie, Frostburg Star Route; Jesse McKenzie, Miss Myrtle McKenzie and Mrs. Orpha Brown, all of Meyersdale RD 3. Funeral mass was sung at St. Michael's Church in Frostburg on Monday morning by Fr. Regis Larkin, with interment in St. Ann's cemetery in Avilton. Military honors were accorded by Farrady Post 24.
