"Butch" McKenzie, 69, of Hyndman RD 1, died Sept. 22, 1994, at his residence. Born Feb. 15, 1925, at Mount Savage, Md., the son of the late Augustus J. and Gladys C. (Chisholm) McKenzie. Also preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Mason McKenzie. A retired cement finisher. Served with the 34th Infantry Division, U.S. Army, in the European Theatre during World War II. Member of Mount Savage VFW, Old Rail Post 6025, the Kennells Mills Sportsman's Club and the Glencoe Sportsman's Club. Survived by four brothers: James McKenzie, Corriganville, Md.; John McKenzie, Meyersdale RD 4; Augustus McKenzie Jr., Glencoe RD 1, and Frederick McKenzie, Wellersburg; four sisters: Susan Habersack, Cresaptown, Md.; Faith Kennell, Hyndman RD 1; Joan Haines, Glencoe, and Shirley Diehl, Mount Savage, Md.; also several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Fay E. Leydig officiating. Interment, White Oak Cemetery. Graveside military honors and pallbearers provided by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard and the Hyndman VFW, Oscar Jordan Post 7375.
