McKenzie, 78, Painesville, Ohio, formerly of Berlin, died Dec. 28, 2003, at Lake West Hospital, Willoughby, Ohio. Born Oct. 26, 1925 in Berlin, the son of Lee and Virginia (Flickenger) McKenzie. Preceded in death by his parents, son Robert J. Jr., (1986) and brothers Lee Jr., Aaron and Donald McKenzie. Survived by his wife, Ina Mae (Sevits) McKenzie, daughter-in-law, Jo Ann McKenzie, granddaughter Lynnsey McKenzie, grandson Robert "BJ" McKenzie III, great-granddaughter Makayla Pizzi, great-grandson Donovan McKenzie, all of Painesville, Ohio; brothers William (Althea) McKenzie, Indianapolis, Ind., Glenn (Becky) McKenzie, Edina, Minn., Richard (Georgine) McKenzie, Cumberland, Md., Larry McKenzie, Berlin; sisters, Patricia Hoffman, Berlin, Judi Van Horn, Satalite Beach, Fla., Linda Fochtman, Berlin; and sisters-in-law, Liz McKenzie, Veronica McKenzie and Marline Fossi. Retired from Union Local 18 in Cleveland, Ohio, where he worked construction for various companies in the area. Also served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a tail gunner and flew 15 missions over Japan and shot down a Japanese fighter. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. Saturday until time of service at 1 p.m. at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Deacon William Underhill officiating.
