McKenzie, 88, Frostburg, Md., died May 16, 2005, at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Center. Born May 19, 1916, in Frog Hollow, Garrett County, Md., she is the daughter of the late John W. and Regina (Layton) Minick. Also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert "Bud" McKenzie; daughter, Catherine Twigg; brother, John "Bud" Minick; two infant grandsons; one great-grandson and son-in-law, Jack L. Burner Sr. Surviving are sons: John J. McKenzie and wife Alice, Frostburg; Jimmy McKenzie and wife, Cecelia, Hancock, Md.; Jerry McKenzie, Cumberland, Md.; and William "Buz" McKenzie and wife, Vicky, Williamsport; daughters: Mary Agnes Burner, Frostburg; Juanita Kelsay and friend, Michael, Frostburg; Carol "Katie" Frost and husband, Ron, Frostburg; Wilda Deal and husband, Donald, Pocahontas; and Judy Rodeheaver and husband, Dwain, McHenry, Md.; brother, Odell Minick and wife, Betty, LaGrange, Ill.; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pocahontas, and St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, and Eastern Garrett Ladies Auxiliary and attended Midland Day Care. She volunteered at Frostburg Village Nursing Home. She was the center of her big family, where she blessed many lives. She loved baseball, flowers and always dressed immaculately. She was known for her sense of fashion and was known as the Valentine Queen. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, MD. Christian Wake service will be held 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Church. The Rev. Father Edward Hendricks celebrant. Pallbearers will be: John Mark McKenzie, Jackie Lee Burner Jr., William Twigg, Andrew McKenzie, Donald Deal, Brent McKenzie and Jamie Rodeheaver. Interment in Finzel Cemetery.
