She was born January 3, 1915, in Salisbury, and lived in Baltimore, Md., before she moved to Pasadena 12 years ago. Mrs. McKerahan was retired from Hecht Co. in Baltimore, where she was a cashier. She formerly worked for the Maryland School for the Blind as a house mother and for Kiddy Haven Day Nursery. She was named one of "Baltimore's Best" in 1985 by then Baltimore mayor, William Donald Schaefer. Mrs. McKerahan enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Charles McKerahan; her parents, Mary Lowry Farner and Glen Farner; and three brothers: Harry, James and Paul Farner. Survivors include: one son, Charles McKerahan of Baltimore; one daughter, Lois Updegraff of Pasadena; two sisters: Marlene Schrock of Meyersdale; and Joann Murphy of Cleveland; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Gonce Funeral Home, Pasadena. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 8424 Veterans Highway, Millersville, MD 21108.
