Dr. McLane was one of Frostburg's outstanding citizens. He appeared in good health at dinner Saturday evening and was noticed by neighbors about 6:30 p.m. mowing his lawn. Later he met patients at his office until 8 o'clock. His wife found him dead about 9 o'clock seated in his office, death evidently having taken place but a short time before. Dr. McLane was a native of Baltimore, and had practiced in Frostburg for 40 years. He is survived by his second wife, Mrs. Eleanor Parker McLane, and the following children by his first marriage; Dr. W. O. McLane, Jr., physician and surgeon, Frostburg; Dr. Charles M. McLane, Baltimore; William Lee McLane, Peoria, Ill., and Misses Anna B. and Eleanor C. McLane. A daughter, Phyllis, by his second wife, also survives. Dr. McLane was an intimate friend of the late Dr. Wm. T. Rowe, and since the latter's death was looking after Mrs. Rowe's health. He paid Mrs. Rowe a professional visit as late as last Thursday.
