McLuckie, 42, formerly of Berlin, an expert in human behavior in disaster situations and an assistant professor of sociology at the University of Delaware, died March 17, 1975, at Wilmington Medical Center in Wilmington, Del., the day before he was to have received the highest award given private citizens by the National Weather Service. Dr. McLuckie was to have been awarded the "Public Service Award" by the National Weather Service for two books he developed on storm warning preparedness. The second book, "Warning - A Call to Action" was developed into a course to aid weathermen in understanding human reaction to storm warnings. Dr. McLuckie lived at 101 Meriden Drive, Fairfield, Newark, Del., with his wife, Ruth and their four children: Andrew, 15; Timothy, 13: Elizabeth, 11; and Ann, 9. He is also survived by his father, Herbert McLuckie, of Meyersdale, and maternal grandfather, Rev. D.C. White, of Berlin. Burial was made Thursday, March 20, in Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
