McMinn, 65, of Adel, Georgia, died Aug. 7, 984. Born in Jefferson, Pa., July 24, 1919, a son of Earl D. and Lucy (Minor) McMinn. Survived by three sons: William E. McMinn, Jr., Atlanta, Ga.; Earl D. McMinn II, St. Simons Island, Ga.; Kimberly I. McMinn, Jacksonville, Fla.; one granddaughter, and a brother, Robert S. McMinn, Berlin, Pa. A member of the Presbyterian Church, Fort Valley, Ga.; F&AM #153, Waynesburg, Pa.; Scottish Rite and Syria Temple, Pittsburgh; BPOE; and Filer-Sadlak Post #954 American Legion. A former teacher of Vocational Agriculture of Berlin Brothersvalley, and a graduate of Penn State. A veteran of World War II, Lt. McMinn lead an infantry platoon on D-Day across Omaha Beach. He was the recipient of a purple heart and two oak leaf clusters. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Frank J. Behm Funeral Home, Jefferson, Pa., where service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Interment, Jefferson Cemetery. Daily American, August 9, 1984 McMINN William E.
