McMURDO William McMurdo, a former citizen of Salisbury for many years, died very suddenly at his home near Elk Garden, W.Va., Monday morning. Full details of his death, funeral, etc., are not available at this time; but Mr. and Mrs. Robert Weise, who were at Westernport, Md., a short time, Tuesday, learned that he fell over dead while feeding his chickens, and was not known to have been ill. Mr. McMurdo is survived by these children: Josephine, whose late husband was Lawrence Folk, has no fixed residence at this time; Harry, whose present address is unknown; John, of Ravenna, Ohio; Hilda, who is married and resides in Akron, Ohio and Jean, wife of Ellis Weise of Westernport, Md. Mr. McMurdo was twice married. His children were all born to his first wife, who before her marriage was Miss Mattie Meager, a daughter of the late John and Charlotte Meager, who for many years were prominent residents of Salisbury, and pillars of the local Methodist church. Mr. McMurdo's age was about 70 years, and his first wife died about 20 years ago. His second wife survives him. Meyersdale Republican, December 18, 1941
