McNEAL Prominent Windber Citizen Dies WINDBER, June 15 - Mitchell E. McNeal, aged 70 years, prominent lumber and coal merchant for the past 22 years in Windber, died shortly before 6 o'clock this morning at his residence, 1209 Cambria Avenue. He had suffered a stroke of apoplexy only about two hours previously. Mr. McNeal had made a trip by automobile to West Virginia on Sunday, and was taken ill while in that state, but returned home on Monday night. His condition was not thought to be serious, but he suffered a stroke early this morning, and died without regaining consciousness. Mr. McNeal had been active in the coal and lumber business for years. Mr. McNeal was born near Indiana, Pa., and was married to Catherine Murray, of Tioga County. His wife died in 1922. The following children survive: Leonard, married, of Windber; Inez, wife of H. A. Mumma, of Allentown, Pa.; Mrs. George Hasson, of Lancaster, Pa.; Mrs. Thomas Courtney, of Windber; Thomas McNeal, at home, and Mrs. Ruth Zepf, of Windber. There are no surviving brothers or sisters. Mr. McNeal was a member of the Church of the Holy Child, in Windber, and services will be held there at a time to be announced later. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, at Geistown, in charge of Undertaker S. J. Conway, of Johnstown. Meyersdale Republican, June 16, 1932
