McNutt, 83, Boswell RD 1, died Jan. 31, 1985, as a result of an automobile accident. Born Jan. 26, 1902, in Jenner Township, Somerset County, a son of Samuel A. and Henrietta (Spangler) McNutt. Preceded in death by parents; one infant son; five brothers; son-in-law, Gibson Carlson, who died 1982; and one infant grandson. Survived by widow, former Ethel N. Shaffer; three daughters: Betty, wife of Donald Wendel, Boswell Rd 1; Faye, wife of Fred Miller, Somerset RD 2; and Doris, wife of Bill Yoder, Boswell RD 2; also, six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Brother of William, Johnstown RD 4. Member of Hopewell United Methodist Church; Jenner Local 1742, UMW of A. Navy veteran of World War II. Celebrated 59th wedding anniversary July 30, 1984. Friends received from noon until 9 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Warren Cravotta officiating.
