Born Aug. 21, 1909, in Latrobe, daughter of the late Daniel W. and Mabel (Miller) Livengood. Preceded in death by her husband, Martin J. Survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Eliza Deal, Salisbury; two brothers: James E., Lancaster; and Samuel M., Waynesboro. A school teacher, she retired in 1970 after 37 years of teaching in the Salisbury-Elk Lick School District. While a teacher, she received the Valley Forge Classroom Teachers' Medal for "her contribution to youth leadership and high devotion to our Republic's heritage." Member of the: Salisbury Church of the Brethren, Salisbury American Legion Auxiliary, Salisbury-Elk Lick Hospital Auxiliary and the Retired Teachers' Association. Funeral services Monday (today) at 2 p.m. at the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, with the Rev. Daniel J. Whitacre officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery. Daily American, April 28, 1986 [M1001]
