McVay, 91, of Mill Run, formerly of Somerset, died April 11, 1986, at Somerset Hospital. Born March 21, 1895, in United Township, Westmoreland County, son of the late William and Sara Catherine (Meyers) McVay. Preceded in death by first wife, the former Minnie A. Tressler; two brothers: Harry and William; three sisters: Irene Romesberg, Iva Snyder and Myrtle McVay. Survived by wife, the former Helen Ruth (Burnsworth) Rugg; and two daughters: Mrs. Michael (Mary Margaret) Shaffer, Clarksville, Tenn.; and Mrs. Frank (Elaine) Lisk, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; stepchildren: Mrs. Donal (Cora) Clawson of Blairsville; Mrs. Clyde (Rebecca) Rugg, Maple Summit; Ernest Rugg and Charles Rugg, Connellsville; Clyde, La Crosse, Wisc.; Mrs. Edward Williams, John Rugg, Gradon Rugg, all of Mill Run; Ralph Rugg, Hopwood; and Miss Marlene of Mill Run; 26 step-children; six step-great-grandchildren. Member of Sipesville Church of the Brethren, United Mine Workers Local No. 6456. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, were service will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m., Willie Jones, Lee Bledso and Rev.
