McVicker, 69, Jenner Township, died Feb. 18, 2007, at Somerset Hospital. Born Nov. 4, 1937, in Jenner Township, son of Warden H. and Ferne (Trexel) McVicker. Preceded in death by father. Survived by mother, Jennerstown; wife of 29 years, the former Gertrude Kozola; children, Barry E. Jr., and wife, Charlene, Boswell; Brian, Boswell; Stacy, married to Spec. Brian Logreco, U.S. Army, Homestead, Fla.; and Jason, and wife, Donna, Boswell; and grandchildren, Brian Jr., Maurita, Ericka, Olivia, Brady and Hanna Jayne. Brother of Dennis and wife, Diana, Hartford, Conn.; Gail, married to Mel Barry, Pittsburgh; David, Jennerstown; and Debbie, married to Jose Garfias, Lancaster, Calif. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A graduate of the former JBJ Joint High School. Barry initially worked in construction before becoming owner and operator of McVicker Welding. Member of St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boswell, where he was a member of the Open Door Sunday School class, a council member and helped rebuild the church after its fire in 1982. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening and reading Louis L'Amour western novels. He was very much loved and will be sadly missed by his family, especially his loving wife. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell. Viewing also will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew's Church. The Rev. Larry C. Hoover officiating. Interment, Jenner Crossroads Cemetery.
