He taught various sciences at Hyndman High School for 35 years and coached football, track and baseball at the school for many years. He retired in 1969. Born Aug. 17, 1911, in Rockwood, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Rebecca (Eicher) McVicker. He was a graduate of Shippensburg State Teachers College and was a past member of the Hyndman Volunteer Fire Company. Survivors include his widow, Pauline (Yutzy) McVicker; one son, E. Barry McVicker, College Park, Md.; one daughter, Paula Lydinger, Cumberland, Md.; one brother, Donald McVicker, Akron, Ohio; one sister, Margaret Frankhouser, Parkersburg, W.Va.; and six grandsons. Friends were received in the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, where services were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Richard L. Tome. Interment, Madley Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeffrey McVicker, Eric McVicker, Danny McVicker, Nick Cristarella, Stanley Pensyl, and Steve Shaffer. The Republic, March 17, 1988 [M1013]
