He is a veteran of World War I, having served four years with the Canadian Army. Surviving are his wife, the former Edith Charlton, and four children. Funeral services were conducted this (Thursday) afternoon at Mt. Washington, Pittsburgh, by Rev. R. M. Dunkelberger, D.D., pastor of the local Lutheran Church, of which Mr. McWhinney was a member for twelve years. Meyersdale Republican, September 14, 1944
