She was born December 21, 1918, in Meyersdale, daughter of the late Gladyce Strattan Loebig and the late John David Hare, also preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Minerva Strattan; a brother, Raymond J. Loebig, Jr.; and an infant son, Robert McCledon Meador. Mrs. Meador is survived by her beloved daughter, Sally E. Mortenson (Charles Whitten); beloved granddaughter, Kira E. Leach; brother, Jackson M. (Sherrill) Loebig; and several nieces and nephews. She attended South Side School, in Meyersdale, until her family moved to Detroit and later to Chicago, and in 1933, the family moved to Franklin Park, IL. In 1980, Geraldine moved to Milton, Fl. Mrs. Meador was active in newspaper and library work in Franklin Park, IL and Milton, FL. She was an editor for two encyclopedias and two village histories in Franklin Park. Funeral services for Mrs. Meador were held Saturday, October 6, 2007 with Father John Wallace officiating at St. Mary's Episcopal Church. Visitation was Friday, October 5, 2007 at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel. Burial was in Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery, Meyersdale. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Rowe's Cat Orphanage in Pensacola, FL would be appreciated. "A special thanks to the dear friends who made my Milton days happy. We'll meet again."
