He was born in Salisbury, a son of the late John Howard and Dorothy Conners Meager. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Marie Meager and two sons, John H. Meager, Jr., of Towson, Md., and James Roberts Meager, of Havre de Grace, Md.; one sister Margaret Jean Roberts, of Bel Air, Md.; and one grandson. He was a civil service employee, retiring June, 1974, with 35 years service; had worked for a shipping and packing department at the Ordinance School, at Aberdeen Proving Ground; was a member of the Havre de Grace United Methodist Church since 1922; member of the Susquehanna Lodge No. 130; AF&AM, of Havre de Grace, and past master of his Lodge. Services were held July 11 at 10 a.m. at the Havre de Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenneth R. Dunnington officiating. Interment, Wesleyan Chapel Cemetery.
