Meehan, 66, former resident and native of Meyersdale, died October 10, 1984, of a fatal heart attack while a patient at the National Institutes of Health Heart Clinic, Bethesda, Maryland. He was born October 2, 1918, the only son of Joseph Meehan and Annie (Brandt) Meehan, of Meyersdale. He had resided in Bayonet Point, Florida, following his retirement from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the Meyersdale Masonic Lodge No. 554, F. & A.M. and the Hebron Royal Arch Chapter No. 272; Charles E. Kelly American Legion Post No. 112; Kelly Corps and North St. Golden Eagles. He was a 1935 graduate of Meyersdale High School. He is survived by his wife Marjorie (Schrock) Meehan, formerly of Garrett; a son Joseph, of Alexandria, Virginia; daughter Bonnie Jean Richardson, of Riverdale, Maryland and a sister, Lily Zearfoss, of Austin, Pennsylvania.
