He was born in Salisbury, May 31, 1860, and resided there until a few years ago. He was married to the former Miss Minerva Albright, who preceded him in death about six years ago. He was the son of Daniel and Margaret (Baer) Meese. He is survived by three sons - Clay, Lee and Gordon Meese, all of Youngstown, O.; by four daughters, Mrs. John J. Brooks, Rochester, N.Y.; Mrs. Julia Wagner, Youngstown, O.; Mrs. Clyde D. Wagner, Youngstown, O. and Mrs. Michael H. Hady, Meyersdale; by 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Mr. Meese was a lifelong member of St. John's Reformed Church in Salisbury. He has been in poor health since August 1948 and died due to the infirmities of old age. Funeral services will be conducted in the Thomas Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 7, with his pastor, the Rev. Ira S. Monn officiating. Interment in the Meyersdale Union Cemetery will be in charge of mortician Stanley M. Thomas, Salisbury. Meyersdale Republican, April 7, 1949
