  MEESE
  
    Gertrude Bowman Smearman Meese, 85, Meyersdale, died Nov. 11, 1987,
  at Meyersdale Community Hospital.  Born Feb. 27, 1902 in Meyersdale, a
  daughter of the late John W. and Anna (Shultz) Bowman.  Preceded in
  death by husband, Glenn Meese in 1980, and these brothers: Oscar,
  Robert, Nelson and William; and sister, Emma.  Survived by these
  children: Harry C. Smearman, Meyersdale; Paul W. Smearman, Garrett;
  Homer R. Smearman, Struthers, Ohio; Floyd D. Smearman, Salisbury; and
  Lloyd Smearman of Meyersdale; and Betty, wife of James Patsy of
  LaVale, Md., 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  Sister
  of Elmer "Bud" Bowman, Meyersdale RD 3; and Mary Poorbaugh,
  Meyersdale RD 1.  Member of Berlin Brethren Church.  Friends will be
  received at Leckemby Funeral Home Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where
  service will be Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ralph Mills
  officiating.  Interment, Union Cemetery.
