Meese, 69, Frostburg, Md., passed away Nov. 28, 2004, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born May 23, 1935 in Frostburg, Md., the son of the late George and Hazel (Carey) Meese. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Gordon. Survived by his wife of 40 years, Margie (Fritz) Meese; son Dan Meese and stepson Mike Williams and wife, Anna, all of Frostburg; a step-granddaughter Amanda, and one grandson, Daniel Ryan Meese of Short Gap, W.Va. Also survived by sister Juanita Meese Spiker and her husband Jack, Frostburg, Md.; several nieces and nephews, and he leaves behind his beloved dog "Cassie" and a special friend Delbert Martin. A 1954 graduate of Northern High School. He was retired carpenter and life long member of the Local 1024, Cumberland, Md. He served 39 years in the 121st Engineer Battalion Company B Army National Guard. Member of the Frostburg Farrady Post 24 American Legion, the Frostburg Moose 348, the Salisbury V.F.W., and the Grantsville Woodmen of the World. Retired farmer raising sheep and cattle. He loved hunting and being with his buddies. An avid NASCAR fan and took great pride in growing a huge garden in which he shared the bounty with friends and family. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hafer Funeral Service, P.A. Chapel of the Hills, National Hwy, 1302 National Hwy, LaVale, Md. Pallbearers were: Clay Garlitz, Jerry Mazer, Eddie Weimer, Ronnie Weimer, Bruce Opel, Stanley Merrbaugh, Raymond, Kenndell, and Shane Stanton.
