"Grandma Jo" Meholic, 90, Central City, died Aug. 22, 2001, at Windber Hospital. Born Aug. 29, 1910, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Peter and Catherine (Kandelski) Blucas. The oldest of 14 children. Preceded in death by parents, husband Henry, brothers John, Stanley, Joseph, Michael, Henry, sisters Catherine Blucas Nedrow and the late Lester Nedrow, and infant sister Victoria. Survived by daughter Rosalie "Rose", wife of Carl Sprock; grandchildren: Michelle, wife of Kevin Bonham; Marcia, wife of Jeff Bayer; Carl Jr., married to the former Jennifer Schwab; Andrea and dear friend Phil Beever; Andrew, married to the former Kathy Redden; Henry and fiance' Melissa Plyler. Also survived by 19 great-grandchildren. Sister of Edward Blucas, widowed by the late Helen (Eutin) Blucas, of Ralphton; Walter Blucas, married to the former Alice Phillips, of Boswell; Ted Blucas, widowed by the late Theresa (Dedik) Blucas, of Levittown; Stella, wife of L. James Bauerle, of Indianapolis, Ind.; Mary, wife of Michael Cook, of Howell, Mich.; Frances, widowed by the late Michael Zellam, of Hooversville. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Mulcahy Funeral Home where vigil for the deceased will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral mass will be concelebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. William E. Mullen pastor and Fr. Charles Bodziak celebrants. Committal, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Ralphton. Rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in Josephine's memory to either Our Lady Queen of Angels Roman Catholic Church, Central City, or Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries of Somerset.
