  Edna K. (Gonder) Boyts Mehrling, 83, R. 150 Plank Road, Somerset,
  formerly of Davidsville, died Aug. 7, 1988 at Mercy Hospital,
  Johnstown.  Born Jan. 4, 1905 in Jenner Township, Somerset County,
  daughter of Newton and Catherine (Bell) Gonder.  Preceded in death by
  parents; first husband Robert G. Boyts who died July 2, 1965; sisters:
  Prudence George, Jennie Koontz and Doris Mehrling; brothers, William
  and Harry.  Survived by husband, the Rev. Walter D., a retired United
  Church of Christ minister with 51 years of service; daughter, Kathryn,
  wife of Glenn Rouser, Davidsville; granddaughter Stephanie L., wife of
  Gregory Cotchen, Everett RD 1; stepdaughter, Jeanne, wife of Dr.
  Ronald Uhl, Annapolis, Md.; stepson, the Rev. Dr. Benjamin P
  Mehrling, Cambridge, Mass; numerous step grandchildren and
  step-great-grandchildren; sister, Marguerite Richardson, Oviedo,
  Fla., sister-in-law Hazel, widow of Harry Gonder, Allegheny Lutheran
  Home, Johnstown.  Member of St. Paul United Church of Christ,
  Somerset.  Would have observed 19th wedding anniversary Aug. 10,
  1988.  Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral
  Home, Main St., Boswell where service will be held at 1 p.m. Wed.,
  the Rev. Glenn E. Sadler officiating.  Interment, Jenner Crossroad
  Cemetery.
