  MENEAR
  
    Acie E. Menear, 98, of Berlin Manor, died Aug. 23, 1994, at
  Somerset Hospital.  Born Aug. 17, 1896, in Terra Alta, W.Va.  Son of
  John and Vernie (Johnson) Menear.  Preceded in death by parents; his
  wife, the former Helen B. Fethers*; son, Roy; daughter, Betty
  Lambert; sisters: Pearl Brougher and Clara Walters.  Survived by son,
  John F., married to the former Ruth Maust of Berlin; daughter-in-law,
  Lucy Menear, Stoystown RD 3; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren
  and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  Retired Stonycreek Township farmer
  and avid horseman.  Participated in many horse pulling contests. 
  Oldest member of Somerset County Baseball Association.  Family will
  receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner
  Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday,
  Rev. Sherman H. Berkey.  Interment, Husband Cemetery, Somerset.
