MENHORN Mrs. Christina Horchler Menhorn died at her home in Coal Run at 11 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, of cerebral hemorrhage. She was born in Garrett County, Maryland on February 12, 1867, daughter of Lewis and Sarah (Ringler) Horchler. After her marriage to Henry W. Menhorn, they built the home in Coal Run where she lived for 54 years. All her children but one, Elmer, were born there. She was aged 79 years, 4 months and 8 days at her death. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Elmer of Meyersdale and Norman and Perry at home; two daughters, Sarah, wife of Harvey Shumaker of Que Creek, and Mary, wife of E. E. Mason of Sipesville. A son and a daughter preceded her in death. She is also survived by a full sister, Mrs. Harvey Wahl of Falls City, Neb., and three half-sisters, Mrs. Charles Callis of Cumberland, Md., and Mrs. Carrie McFarland and Miss Fannie Horchler of Wyandotte, Mich., a full brother, Samuel M. Horchler, Route 1, Salisbury; two half-brothers, John and James Horchler, of Garrett County, Md.; 25 grandchildren and 28 great- grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted in St. Paul Reformed Church of which she was a member for many years, at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 24th, Rev. George K. Ely, pastor, officiating. Interment in the church cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, June 27, 1946
