All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ ELIZABETH MENHORN Mrs. Elizabeth Menhorn, wife of Herman Menhorn of Salisbury, died at her home at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 1940, at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 7 days, after a long illness. Her death was caused by a heart disease. Mrs. Menhorn was born near Accident, in Garrett County, Md., but was a highly esteemed resident of Salisbury for many years, and was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church, as well as a devoted wife and mother. She was a daughter of the late Philip and Sarah Bittinger Miller, and is survived by her husband and these children: Walter, Frank and Albert, of Somerset; Hubert, of Salisbury, and Carl, at home. She is also survived by four brothers and one sister, namely, Lewis, of Zanesville, O.; Frank, of Salisbury; George, of Accident, Md.; Milton, of Beavertown, Pa., and Mrs. Mary Nolte, of Coal Run. Funeral was held in St. John's Lutheran Church and was conducted by her pastor, Rev. S. D. Sigler. Interment was in the Salisbury I.O.O.F. Cemetery, under the direction of the local mortician, Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, August 22, 1940
