  MENSER
  
    Robert J. "Chief" Menser, 70, of Jacksonville, Fla., died May 10,
  1993, after a lengthy illness.  Mr. Menser was born Sept. 11, 1922 in
  Hooversville and had a 26-year career in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a
  chief.  Survivors include his wife, Doris (Hays) Menser,
  Jacksonville; 2 daughters: Sandra Lachance, Laplata, Md., and
  Elizabeth Chapman, Jacksonville; 2 brothers: George and Frank Menser;
  4 sisters: Jeannie Echard, Hazel Herwig, Loann Linn, and Martha
  Cherry; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services
  will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 14, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home,
  6940 Atlantic Blvd., Jacksonville, with the Rev. Ronnie McKenzie
  officiating.  Interment, Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens, Jacksonville,
  Fla.
