  CATHERINE MERKEL
  
    Catherine Merkel, 69, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Garrett, died Nov.
  23, 1978 in Pittsburgh.
    She was born March 15, 1909 in Fairhope, a daughter of the late
  William and Annie (Shroyer) Sweeney.
    She was preceded in death by first husband, Frank Sheering and
  second husband, Edward Merkel.
    She was a sister of Michael Sweeney, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Nora Farber
  of Meyersdale; and Mrs. Mollie Phennicie, Meyersdale RD 3.
    Friends were received at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where
  services were conducted with the Rev. William Phennicie
  officiating.  Interment, Highland Cemetery, Garrett.
