  MERKEL 
  
  Charles Lee Merkel, 37, Glencoe, died Aug. 14, 1984, at Glencoe.  He
  was born May 17, 1947, in Fairhope, a son of Arthur Lee and Elsie
  (Twigg) Merkel.  He was preceded in death by his father.  Survived by
  his mother, of Fairhope; his wife, the former Betty Butler; sons,
  Charles Lee Jr. and Brian Lee, both at home.  He was a brother of:
  Roger, Fairhope; Cecil, Hyndman; Mrs. Robert (Alice) Campbell,
  Buffalo Mills RD 1; Mrs. Roger (Doris) Shroyer, Fairhope RD 1; Mrs.
  Thomas (Carol) Wall, Yukon; Mrs. William (Karen) Leydig and Mrs. Earl
  (Nancy) Hogameir, both of Hyndman.  He was employed by Northampton
  Township.  Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and from
  2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home,
  Berlin, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev.
  Gregory Gohn officiating.  Interment, Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
