Merrbach, Godlieb

  Godlieb Merrbach of Lonaconing, Maryland, brother of William H. Merrbach and 
Mrs. Carl Vogtman of this place, died very suddenly on Sunday morning, aged 64 
years. In apparent health up to two o'clock and even perhaps later than this 
time on Sunday morning, he was found dead by his wife who at that time tried to 
arouse him. A physician who was called said that he must have died about an hour 
preceding his arrival. The father of the deceased died in the same manner about 
eight years ago. Eight children survive. The funeral was conducted by his 
pastor, Rev. Soffron of the Lutheran Church, assisted by Rev. English of 
Lonaconing. The deceased was a member of the I. O. O. F. and also of the Knights 
of Pythias.
