Born June 16, 1939 in Rockwood, son of the late Charles F. and Margaret E. (Platter) Merrill. Survived by wife of 42 years, Joanne (Brothers) Merrill, and children: James K., husband of Joy (Young) Merrill, of Greensboro, N.C.; Peg, wife of Randy Lewis of Fandell Man, N.C.; Kenneth, husband of Cynthia (Deist) Merrill, Gray; Kelli, wife of Richard Wentz, of Denver, Pa., and Chad F Merrill, Ephrata; Heather Merrill, companion of John Robison, Lancaster. Also 12 grandchildren and sisters Shirley, wife of George Henry of Rockwood; and Sherry Lynn, wife of Paul Palmos, of Oxford, Pa. Member of Mission of Love Church in Ephrata and the Reamstown Athletic Club. Over-the-road truck driver for the Moran Truck Co., Somerset. Formerly worked as an operating engineer through the union office Local #66, Monroeville. Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mission of Love Church, 1926-B West Main St., Ephrata, Rev. Roger Hornberger officiating. Final care will be at the convenience of the family.
