All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ LYDIA MERRILL Word was received in Meyersdale of the death of Mrs. Lydia (Brown) Merrill, 63, wife of William Merrill, Tuesday morning in Hudson, Ohio, where she had been staying with her daughter, Mrs. John Barrack, during a long period of illness. Mrs. Merrill was the eldest daughter of the late Daniel P. Brown of Meyersdale. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill resided in Cleveland, O., until last summer when Mrs. Merrill became ill and was removed to the home of her daughter in Hudson. Upon receipt of a message last Friday that Mrs. Merrill's condition was critical, Mrs. Sadie Uphold and H. G. Brown of Somerset, Mrs. Andrew Stein and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Uphold of Meyersdale motored to Hudson, O., on Saturday and returned Sunday evening. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Merrill is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John Barrack, and two sons, Jack Oscar Merrill and William Merrill, Jr.; also one sister, Mrs. Sadie Uphold of Somerset, and the following step-sisters and brothers: Mrs. Andrew Stein, H. G. Brown, Mrs. Ira Boger, Mrs. Zed Hoar, F. P. Brown and Mrs. Margaret Smith. Meyersdale Republican, February 18, 1943
