  MERRILL
  
    Margaret E. Merrill, 67, of Rockwood, died May 7, 1985, at Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born Aug. 20, 1918, in Meyersdale, daughter of
  William and Anna (Foy) Platter.  Survived by her husband, Charles
  ("Sleepy") of Rockwood; one son, Charles Robert; two daughters: Mrs.
  George (Shirley) Henry, Rockwood RD 3; and Mrs. Paul (Sherry Lynn)
  Palmas, Norfolk, Va.; two brothers: William Platter, Boynton; and
  Robert Platter, LaVale, Md,; two sisters: Mrs. Mary Lewis,
  Cresaptown, Md.; and Mrs. Anna Ruth Glessner, Bel Air, Md.; nine
  grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  Her death terminates a
  marriage union of 48 years.  Employed as an LPN at Somerset Community
  Hospital for many years.  Member of Rockwood Firemen's Auxiliary, the
  WBA Lodge, and Rockwood Church of the Brethren.  Friends will be
  received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, Wednesday,
  7-9 p.m., and Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where services will be
  conducted Friday at 11 a.m., the Rev. Jay Christner officiating. 
  Interment, Rockwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the
  direction of the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, with Robert
  H. Halverson supervising.
