  MERRILL
  
    Mrs. Mary Merrill, 82, of Somerset, died Feb. 8, 1972, in Chester
  County Hospital, West Chester.  Born Nov. 29, 1889, in Barton, Md.,
  was a daughter of the late William and Mary (Broadwater) Sluss.  She
  was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Merrill, in 1970; a son,
  James and five brothers.
    Surviving are five children: Mrs. Helen Strong and Mrs. Thelma
  Coleman, both of Somerset; Charles, Somerset RD 1; Edward, Gresson,
  Germany; and Mrs. Peggy Dwire, Uwchland, Pa.; 14 grandchildren, 15
  great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Nina Rowan and Mrs.
  Marcelina Merrbach, both of Lonaconing, Md.; and Mrs. Mildred Hare,
  and a brother, Dewey, both of Baltimore.
    Mrs. Merrill was a member of the Rockwood Firemen's Auxiliary, WBA
  Lodge, Rockwood; and First Methodist Church, Somerset.
    Funeral service was held Monday afternoon in Wilbur D. Miller
  Funeral Home, Somerset, with Rev. Donald Lash officiating.  Interment
  Rockwood IOOF Cemetery.
