  MERRINGER
  
    Matilda A. Merringer, 87, of Acosta, died Feb. 10, 1983, in
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born in Jefferson Township, Somerset
  County Nov. 21, 1895, a daughter of the late Frank and Rebecca
  (Faith) Brandt.  Preceded in death by husband, Stephen S.; and son,
  Charles; and a daughter, Edith; also two brothers.  Survived by the
  following children:  Mrs. Mary Whitfield, Acosta; Paul, Somerset RD
  2; Clark, Stoystown RD 1; Ray, Lamberton, Minn.; Earl, of Acosta;
  Mrs. Barnie (Daisy) Haney, Somerset; 24 grandchildren and 33
  great-grandchildren.  Sister of: Mrs. Elizabeth Moyer, Hialeah, Fla.;
  Mrs. Catherine Crist, Montrose, Colo.; Daisy Cole, Colerain, N.C. 
  Member of the Bethany United Methodist Church.  Friends received at
  the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. Friday and 2-4 and
  7-9 p.m. Saturday.  Services conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, in the
  Bethany Methodist Church, with the Rev. Donald Rudat officiating. 
  Interment, Bethany Cemetery.  Body will lie in state at the church
  from 1 p.m. Sunday until time of services.
