  ALICE M. MERRITT
  
    Alice M. Merritt, 89, Valley Road, died June 12, 1983, in the
  Cumberland Nursing Home, Maryland.
    She was born May 1, 1894 in Fairhope, a daughter of the late Joseph
  S. Maxwell and Mary (Faidley) Maxwell.
    She is survived by her husband, Roy L. Merritt; one daughter, Jean
  B. Hosey, Granbury, Tex.; two stepsons, Roy L. Merritt Jr. and
  Charles T. Merritt, both of Cumberland, Md.; a niece whom she raised,
  Marion Fisher, also of Cumberland; two grandchildren and three
  great-grandchildren.
    Friends were received in the George-Upchurch Funeral Home where
  services were conducted by Dr. Howard Newman.  Interment will be in
  Rose Hill Cemetery.
