She had been in poor health for two months and had been bedfast for two weeks. Her death was the result of a paralytic stroke. She was born April 15, 1884, the daughter of Levi and Mary (Arnold) Baughman of Sand Patch, and was married March 19, 1913. Surviving besides her husband, are a daughter, Mrs. Maynard Schewick and a granddaughter, Carolyn Sue, of Cumberland, Md.; her 87-year-old mother, Mrs. Mary Baughman of Meyersdale; one brother, Lewis Baughman, Meyersdale, and three sisters, Mrs. Mayme Deist of Meyersdale, Mrs. Martha Meyers of Somerset and Mrs. Nora Owens of Hagerstown, Md. Mrs. Merryfield was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran church in Auburn. Funeral services were conducted at the Gerig Funeral Home, April 19, with Rev. Allen K. Trout of St. Mark's church officiating. Burial was made in Floral Grove Cemetery at Pioneer, O. Mrs. Mayme Deist of Meyersdale, R.D. 2, attended the funeral. Meyersdale Republican, April 29, 1948
