Cage-Messsenger, 85, Somerset, died July 11, 1987, at Somerset Community Hospital. She was born Oct. 8, 1901, in Somerset, a daughter of the late Daniel Webster and Cora E. (Sufall) Rhoads. Preceded in death by first husband, Albert Lyle Cage Sr.; and second husband, the Rev. J. Fenton Messenger Sr.; son, Albert L. Cage Jr.; stepson, J. Fenton Messenger Jr.; and sister, Sara Louise Rhoads. Survived by daughter-in-law, Mrs. JoAnn Coleman Cage, Somerset; stepchildren, Mrs. Walter (Dora) Williams, Somerset; and Mrs. Robert Esther Weitzel; Kenton, Ohio; three granddaughters, Mrs. Brenda Winkelman and Miss Sara Cage, both of Somerset; and Mrs. Jerry (Kristine) Brown, Aliquippa; five great-grandsons, Bruce Cage, Brett Winkelman Jr., Daniel, Matthew, and Mark Brown; also three step-granddaughters. She was former partner of the D.W. Rhoads Co., member of First Christian Church, Trinity Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Somerset Community Hospital Auxiliary, Laurel Arts and past regent of Daughters of the American Revolution. No viewing or visitation. Private graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Union Cemetery with the Rev. David S. Uhl officiating. Contributions may be made to First Christian Church or the Western Pa. Chapter of the American Heart Association. Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
