MESSERSMITH Charles Henry Messersmith, 66, husband of the former Miss May Younkin of Grantsville, died at his home in Lester, Pa., April 13, after a brief illness. A Westinghouse Company employee for a number of years, he would have retired this year. He was born May 4, 1883, at Tawanda, Pa., the oldest son of the late Joshua and Lucretia Messersmith, who came to Jennings, Md., with the C. H. Jennings Lumber Company. He is survived by his wife, a sister, Mrs. Joseph Livengood of Grantsville, and three brothers, James E. and Joshua L. Messersmith, Hagerstown, and David H. Messersmith, Marathon, N.Y. Funeral services were held at Lester, Saturday morning, and burial was made nearby. Mrs. Livengood, son Joseph Paul, and John Hanft of Grantsville attended the funeral.
