Metheney, 74, of Confluence RD 3, died Dec. 5, 1993, at Conemaugh Hospital, Johnstown. He was born on Feb. 17, 1919 in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, son of the late Charles and Bertha (Mitchell) Metheney. He is survived by his wife, the former Verdella Reeves; daughter, Judy Leer, of Markleton; son, William of Confluence; four grandchildren: Christine Hoover, of Somerset; Michael Metheney, of Confluence; Jennifer and B.J. Leer, both of Markleton; also a great-granddaughter, Katelyn Hoover; two brothers: Alvin and Ralph, both of Confluence and sister, Mildred Woods, of Ursina. He was a trustee of Ursina, Crossroads and Younkin cemeteries. Friends were received Monday at Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where services were held Tuesday, Rev. Edward DeVore officiating.
