Metz Jr., 76, died Jan. 26, 1986, in Pittsburgh. Practiced law in Pittsburgh for 53 years and most recently, in the firm of Metz, Cook, Hanna, Welsh, Bluestone, and Beamer, and in Somerset, was with son-in-law Ogle, Metz and Policicchio. Attended Princeton University and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Law School. Was a professor of law at the Pittsburgh Law School for 25 years and a member of Civil Procedure and Rules Committee of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member and past president of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. A member of the American Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association. Admitted to practice of the Supreme Court of the United States, and was a member of the Duquesne Club of Pittsburgh and of Third Presbyterian Church. No visitation. Survived by wife, the former Margaret Ritchey, two daughters Margaret (Peggy), married to Alexander Ogle of Somerset; and Sandra, married to Mohsin Qureski of Chicago; five grandsons; one brother, Richard of Cincinnati; one sister, Elizabeth of Worcester, Mass. Former regional administrator with the Office of Price Administration. Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Third Presbyterian Church, at Fifth and South Negley, Pittsburgh.
