Metz, 64, of 4751 Curlew Drive, St. James City, Fla., formerly of LaVale, Md., died Wednesday, June 3, 1987, in Shands Hospital, Gainesville, Fla. Born in Brown County, Ind., Sept. 28, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Vera (Stark) Butler. She was formerly employed as an assembly line worker for a radio and television parts company, Towson, Md. She was a member of St. James City Church. Surviving are her husband, Blake E. Metz; one son, Donald E. Metz, Keyser, W.Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Carole J. Weaver and Mrs. Ladona G. Dickel, both of Rawlings, and Mrs. Sharon W. Haines, Florida; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Wininger, Indiana; Mrs. Thelma Morrison, Mount Pleasant, and Mrs. Mary Silbaugh, Confluence; a stepmother, Mrs. Lizzie Butler, Confluence; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends were received in the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md. where services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Charles W. Biser. Interment, Rest Lawn Memorial Park, LaVale, Md.
