   Ruby Mae Metzgar, 84, Somerset, formerly of Friedens, died May 1, 2007, at Memorial
  Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Sept. 6, 1922, in Somerset, a daughter of Wilson Henry
  and Mayme Catherine (Gardner) Hoffman. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Robert
  Lease Metzgar, who died May 18, 2004; grandchildren, Colleen Metzgar and Daniel Ackerman;
  brothers, Nelson, Clark, Paul and Ray Hoffman; sisters, Blanche Hershberger, Vida Heiple,
  Marie Kuhlman and Sara Jane Hoffman. Survived by children, Craig Metzgar, married to the
  former, Sally Hoyt, Belize; Mrs. George (Kathleen) Weaver, Raleigh, N.C.; and Mrs.
  Patrick (Diane) Morin, Somerset; grandchildren, Christina Metzgar, Silver Springs, Md.;
  Mrs. Bill (Cynthia) Poch, Frederick, Md.; Sean Miles and wife, Lori, Raleigh, N.C.; and
  Garth Miles, Raleigh, N.C.; and numerous step grandchildren and also,
  great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jacob Miles. Also survived by sister, Mrs. Ethel J.
  Saylor, Jerome and brother, Floyd Hoffman, Silver City, N.M. A 1940 graduate of Somerset
  High School. Also a member of the Stoystown United Church of Christ. She was also a
  former 4-H leader. She enjoyed crafts and woodworking and playing cards. No viewing or
  visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. Interment,
  Stoystown IOOF Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Somerset County 4-H, 6024
