Meyers, aged 69 years, died at her home, Meyersdale R.D. 2, last Friday, Sept. 28. She was born April 10, 1876, a daughter of the late Augustus and Matilda (Gauntz) Platter. Besides her aged husband, she is survived by eight children: Albert C., Akron, O.; Fred H. and Earl E. Meyers, and Mrs. Lottie Pletcher, Somerset R.D. 1; A. W., Frostburg, Md.; and Henry H., Ross, and Ira J., Homer City. She was a sister of William Platter, Meyersdale, and a half sister of Anna Triplett, Cumberland, Md. Twenty-one grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted last Sunday afternoon in the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren by Rev. J. E. Jones, pastor of the Hostetler Church of the Brethren. Interment in Union Cemetery under the direction of H. R. Konhaus, local mortician. Mr. Meyers and family formerly lived on a farm in Greenville Township, but about 20 years ago moved to another farm in Milford Township, where Mr. and Mrs. Meyers lived until all of their children were grown up, after which they retired and moved to the Hahn property on the Sand Patch road a short distance out of Meyersdale. Mr. Meyers is in poor health and desires to sell his home since his wife has gone to her long rest, leaving him alone in a house which is far too big for his further use.
