His body was discovered by a neighbor upon going to the house where he lived alone. The cause of death was given as coronary occlusion. He was unmarried and had no relatives except cousins. He was the son of William Jacob and Amanda (Cook) Meyers, and a grandson of William Meyers, one of the pioneers of Meyersdale, brother of Peter Meyers for whom the town was named. After the death of his parents he was reared by an aunt, the late Miss Emma Meyers, whose home on North Street he inherited. He was a graduate of Juniata College, and taught school for a few years. But due to ill health, most of his life he was unemployed. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Edwin C. Nagle officiating. Burial under the direction of W. C. Price and Son was in Union Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, May 19, 1949
