  Carl J. Meyers, "Duke", 70, Stoystown RD 2, died may 20, 1987, at
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Aug. 13, 1916, in Somerset
  Township, son of the late John H. and Mabel (Shaffer) Meyers. 
  Preceded in death by wife, the former Ruby Eash, died May 19, 1986;
  grandson, Teddy Abramowich; brothers:  Earl, Charles, Robert and
  Wilbur; sisters:  Susan Spangler, Kathryn Koontz and Clara Bowman. 
  Survived by these children; Mrs. Joseph (Virginia) Sirianni,
  Harrisburg; Mrs. Ted (Carol) Abramowich, Stoystown RD 3; Mrs. John
  (Linda) Adams, Hooversville RD 1; John, married to the former Michele
  Martyak, Jefferson RD 1; Perry, married to the former Marilyn Lambert,
  Stoystown RD 2; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Brother
  of:  Mrs. Frank (Josephine) Liberty, Stoystown RD 1, and Mrs. Mabel
  Showman, Somerset RD 7.  Retired coal miner of Island Creek Coal
  Company.  Member of Kantner United Methodist Church, UMWA,
  Quemahoning Rod and Gun Club, National Rifle Association and American
  Wildlife Federation.  Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Friday at
  Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m.
  Saturday, the Revs. Ed and Brenda Fritz.  Interment, Odd Fellows
  Cemetery, Stoystown.
